I called a different company and they told me it would be 10 days before they could get someone out to look at my refrigerator outlet. I found Jerry online and he was here within two hours. He diagnosed the problem, told me he could fix it for $X, or told me what store I could go to to buy the part and fix it myself if I wanted to save money! You don’t see that these days! He literally took a sale away from himself and gave me a quick explanation of how to do the job myself!! I have a new go to electrician!! Thanks Jerry!!Posted on Google randall walkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Craig was recommended to me, so that is who I first called. Craig has great reviews here, so if you can use him, I'm sure he'd be good. However, when Stanger called me back to get on my schedule, it was the owner who contacted me and the owner who showed up at my house. First mistake - the change in technician was not communicated. I thought I made it clear that I was only looking for a quote. I had planned on going through my home warranty company but wanted to get an idea of what the issue was first and how much it would cost me in case I needed to save up. The owner fixed the problem in less than 15 minutes by simply pushing the button on a GFCI outlet. He fixed the issue so quickly I didn't even have time to talk to him about my plan financially. He then proceeded to tell me it would be $140. Second mistake - he didn't give me ANY indication of cost either on the phone or in person before he started working. I asked him if he thought the work he did (in 15 minutes at best) was worth that much. He said his hourly rate is $140. He told me I was paying for 40 years worth of his experience AND his 25 minute drive to get to me (since when is a drive covered by the client?). I'm pretty sure almost any electrician could have fixed my simple issue -- I didn't need 40 years of experience for that. He would not budge on the pricing. I tried to be reasonable, calmly explained my side of the story, took blame for possibly not doing a great job of communicating my financial plan, tried to offer compromises, etc. But he would not budge on anything and had a pretty indignant tone. I asked him how we could resolve this issue and he answered sarcastically, "you can pay me." Just really not a great way to do business. As someone who works in the service industry myself, I would never talk to a client that way. He finally took $20 off. If I had been able to go through my home warranty it would have only cost me $80. I wasted $40 and had a pretty poor experience. I will say that he did double check that he moved my fridge back, which had been covering the electrical panel. He said he wanted to make sure I had a good experience even if we disagreed. It was definitely too late for that.Posted on Google Adam JohnsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Life saver!!! Which in every other job I've hired out starts when they arrive and start working! Nope was charged $50.00 for him to drive to my house! This should have been made clear on the phone when we discussed the price and it was not. So deceitful!Posted on Google Joseph LaneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Called Stanger Electric and told them about my problem. One hour and 25 minutes later, Craig was on his way to fix my problem. Craig was very thorough and corrected my problem in about 30 minutes. Fast, response, fair price and quality work! Overall it was a Great Experience! Thanks again!Load more
